Pro BSL blog uses Allie Renar to advance their cause

A blog that promotes breed specific legislation has discovered Allie Renar, and Allie has become a valuable foil for them.

http://www.dogsbite.org/blog/2008/12/anti-bsl-organization-stop-bslcom-gives.html

Apparently www.stop-bsl.com will never actually be used to fight BSL. Instead, it is used to raise money for dogfighters and their defense lawyers, or to attack the humane society. Now that web site, which claims to be against BSL, will be used by groups that want to ban pit bulls. Renar has made it extremely easy for groups like dogsbite.org to position anti BSL web sites as fronts for dogfighters.

Allie Renar and www.stop-bsl.com have become the best friend of groups that want to ban pit bulls, whether she likes it or not.

Allie Renar defends another accused animal abuser

Allie Renar of www.stop-bsl.com is now rallying visitors to a popular fighting dog web to support Stephanie Schweitzer of TNT Kennels in Tennessee.

Here is some information that is familiar with the case, and the crimes Stephanie Schweitzer is accused of:

"A woman was caught fighting pits, and 17 of them were seized. These dogs are mutilated and starved."

"Some of the injuries were absolutely horrifying. One of the dogs had a broken jaw and it had set wrong. It's at about a 45 degree angle opposite the rest of him. He also has a broken leg that wasn't set. You can hear it crunch when he walks. These poor souls don't have any reason to, but they still smile that cute little doggy smile and mush against you for affection. My favorite is this gorgeous little brindle boy. He's got a patch of skin about as big around as a baseball taken out of his back, dangling and dry. But he is SO sweet. I cry every time I look at them. One of them died of starvation the day they were brought in."

"I just found out yesterday that another one of the pits died. They had so little room, they had to put two in a kennel together....Well, they were fine with each other usually, but they would get into about five fights a day. One of them died overnight. It's so pitiful, and there's nothing I can do. "

"Another one dead yesterday. God, they're dropping like flies, and I feel so helpless! Thank you, everyone, for the kind words. It's so hard to see those pleading eyes, begging for love and screaming that they need help."

"They really need more space. A customer heard the fight (employees only around the pits. The rooms are shut off from the public) and they tried to seperate them. The break stick didn't work, and they couldn't get the hose to them."

It's typical that a group that claims to be raising money to fight pit bull bans would instead by using their resources to defend someone accused of horrific animal abuse.

stop-bsl.com is at it again

Not content with simply raising money to pay dogfighter legal fees, now the animal cruelty apologists at www.stop-bsl.com are trying to raise money to attack the Humane Society of the United States.

And what is their beef with the Humane Society?

Apparently the Humane Society ran a newspaper ad congratulating the sheriff's department in Tucson, AZ for their hard work in cracking down on dogfighters. This has the stop-bsl.com folks, and Allie Renar in particular, all worked up and in a tizzy.

It should be noted that raid led to the conviction of Rudy Verdin for both dogfighting, and a child sex crime. stop-bsl.com raised money for Verdin's defense.

Who is www.stop-bsl.com?

At first glance, stop-bsl is an organization dedicated to preventing pit bull bans. A closer look, however, shows some dangerous connections to the criminal underworld of dogfighting.

The web site founder, Allie Renar, is a regular poster on such dogfighting sites as www.game-dog.com. A "game dog" in the pit bull world is a fighter who shows gameness, the willingness to keep fighting even when severely hurt or on the verge of death.

Ms. Renar has raised money for criminal defendants facing trial on dogfighting charges. Recently, two people she raised money for pled guilty to dogfighting, with one of them pleading guilty to a sex crimes charge that stemmed from child pornography that was found on his computer.

These two were from a group of six that were arrested in Pima County, AZ in February of 2008. Another two were found not guilty, and two still have charges pending. Ms. Renar likes to claim that four of the six have not been found guilty. This claim does not take into account that several have not gone to court yet.

Ms.Renar and her web site also have given money to Al White of GA, a convicted felon that is facing dogfighting and sexual molestation charges.

She bragged of her efforts to fund these people's defense in a dogfighting magazine called Scratch Back. It should be noted that the publisher of Scratch Back, Rudy Cantrelle, is wanted in Harris County, TX on dogfighting charges.

Before you donate to her organization, keep in mind that they are not using money to fight pit bull bans. Instead, they give money to dogfighters facing criminal charges, and use the rest of their time to attack dogfighting opponents like The Humane Society of the United States.

Soon we will be exposing some companies that have funded this ill conceived effort to defend dogfighters.
